Re: Martin Committee Bb Trumpet s/n 172XXX
Instrument Identification and Description
This medium bore Committee Model Bb trumpet was manufactured by the Martin Band Instrument Company in Elkhart Indiana in 1950.
Having just been overhauled, the instrument is in excellent visual and mechanical condition. The 24K gold plating is new and 100% intact. There are no dents or scratches, and the trumpet appears almost new. The bell is engraved The Martin Committee Model Elkhart Ind. USA. The serial number, 172XXX is stamped on the right side of the 2nd valve casing. The valves work well and have good compression. The slides work very well.
Instrument Maintenance, Repair, and Upgrade History
In January 2006 the trumpet was overhauled and gold plated at the Doctor Valve shop. At this time it also had a new replica Martin Committee leadpipe installed and received an Optimum Port Matching valve alignment.
Fair Market and Insurance Replacement Valuation Information
Martin Committee models are very sought after and this keeps the value of these instruments very high. This is an excellent example and would be difficult to replace.
This trumpet is currently valued at $3,000.00.
